By Car –
Parking: Eye has several car parks, including the main car park on Castle Street, which offers free parking for up to 2 hours. There are also several pay-and-display car parks around the town.
Road Access: Eye is situated near the A140 and A143 roads, making it easily accessible by car from surrounding towns and cities.
By Bus –
Bus Routes: Regular bus services connect Eye to nearby towns, including Diss, Stowmarket, and Ipswich. You can catch a bus from the bus stops by the town hall
Operators: Bus services are provided by operators Simonds and Galloway.
By Train –
Nearest Station: The nearest train station is in Diss, approximately 5 miles from Eye. Trains go to London and Norwich and From Diss station, you can take a taxi or bus to reach Eye.

By Bike –
Cycle Routes: Eye is surrounded by picturesque countryside, making it an ideal destination for cyclists. The town is connected to the surrounding villages and countryside by quiet roads and designated cycle paths. The national cycle path 30 passes nearby to Eye.

Much of the airfield is appropriate for wheel chairs too with most of our airfield trails being on hard concrete though we ask you scout the area first to ensure it’s suitable for you and your walking party as after all the concrete is all original!

There are a number of retail and convenience stores in Eye. We boast having two different co-op convenience stores, along with hairdressers, school, deli, B&B, takeaway restaurants and doctors surgery. Nearby to Eye is Diss, where you’ll find three large supermarkets, European food stores, post office, banks, petrol stations and pubs just to name a few. Both can be visited by bus picking up from from Eye town centre, or by train from Diss.

However there’s lots of public walking trails around Eye.
The Suffolk Way: This 110-mile trail passes through Eye, offering stunning views of the surrounding countryside, picturesque villages, and historic landmarks.
The Angles Way: This 77-mile trail follows the River Waveney from Great Yarmouth to Outney Common, passing through Eye and offering scenic views of the river and surrounding countryside.
The Waveney Valley Walk: This 13-mile trail follows the River Waveney from Diss to Bungay, passing through Eye and offering stunning views of the river, countryside, and historic landmarks.
Eye to Occold Circular Walk: This 4.5-mile walk takes you through the picturesque countryside surrounding Eye, offering stunning views of the surrounding hills, woodlands, and farmland.
Eye to Mellis Circular Walk: This 5.5-mile walk takes you through the rolling countryside surrounding Eye, offering scenic views of the surrounding hills, woodlands, and farmland.
