Engineers’ Memorial
We remember the engineers who designed, built, and maintained the base at Eye, Suffolk, England. Their hard work and dedication created a home for our aircraft and personnel, and enabled us to fly over 158 missions against the enemy.
Their Legacy Lives On
The engineers of the 846th Engineer Aviation Battalion may not have flown the planes or dropped the bombs, but their contributions to the war effort were just as crucial. They worked behind the scenes, often in difficult conditions, to ensure that our operations were supported.
